LINZ and Cannes PITCH SESSION

Launched in 2022, the Talent Academy of the Linz International Short Film Festival (ISFF) has been dedicated to nurturing emerging filmmakers and providing them with the resources, mentorship, and exposure necessary to succeed in the film industry. In 2025, the academy expanded with the introduction of the First Feature LAB, a new initiative for filmmakers working on their debut feature films. This expansion further strengthens the academy’s commitment to supporting talent at various stages of their careers.

The Talent Academy offers two key development programs: the Short Film LAB and First Feature LAB, along with tailored masterclasses and workshops designed to equip filmmakers with professional guidance and international visibility. Participants in both labs will benefit from a unique 4-day residency at the Cannes Film Festival, providing access to an invaluable networking environment and the opportunity to attend exclusive panels and events.

In addition, the First Feature LAB will allow participants to pitch their projects on the prestigious stages of the Cannes Film Market at the Festival Palais, while Short Film LAB participants will pitch their projects at Linz ISFF. Short Film LAB participants also have the chance to win the Co-Production Fund to help finance their next film production. A dedicated booth for the Talent Academy will be present at the Cannes Marche du Film, further fostering international exchange and connections between filmmakers and industry professionals.
