Script Lab is an intensive development program designed for filmmakers working on short and feature film screenplays. Combining personalized mentorship, group-based analysis, and guided rewriting processes, the Lab supports participants in strengthening their scripts and refining their storytelling approach.
The program follows a structured development process that moves from diagnosis to collective exploration, and finally to targeted revision.
The Script Lab is a development-focused program. Participants are expected to actively engage in discussions, provide feedback to others, and commit to rewriting their projects throughout the Lab.
Initial Mentoring
Each selected project begins with a one-on-one mentoring session. This session focuses on identifying the core challenges of the screenplay, clarifying the dramatic premise, and defining a clear direction for rewriting. Participants will leave this session with a structured development plan tailored to their project.

What is the Script LAB?
The Script LAB is an intensive screenplay development program for emerging writer-directors working on short or feature film projects. Through individual mentoring, group development sessions, and guided rewriting, participants strengthen their screenplays, refine their storytelling, and prepare their projects for the next stage of development or production.
What is the duration of the program?
The Script LAB is a 10-week online program consisting of two individual mentoring sessions, 3–4 group development sessions, and continuous guidance throughout the rewriting process.
What are the selection criteria?
Selection is based on the strength of the project, storytelling potential, originality, and artistic vision. Applicants must be emerging writer-directors applying with a short or feature film project at the treatment or first draft stage.
Is there a fee to participate?
Yes. There is no application fee, but selected participants pay a participation fee:
Short Film Script Lab: €850
Feature Film Script Lab: €1,200
What happens after the first selection stage?
After being shortlisted in the first stage, selected talents must participate in an online interview with the selection committee.
Who can apply for the Short Film LAB?
The Script LAB is open to emerging writer-directors from around the world. Applicants must have previous experience in screenwriting and filmmaking, apply with their own short or feature film project, and demonstrate sufficient English proficiency to participate in the program. The writer and director of the submitted project must be the same person..
